I saw the prospect loaded Altoona Curve play the Harrisburg Senators in a 2 o’clock game at the new look Senators Stadium last Sunday, June 26th.Senators hurler, Shairon Martis shut the young Curve lineup down 6-0 with his wide assortment of major league pitches and changing speeds. The strong Harrisburg lineup scored 4 unearned runs in the 4th against young RHP Philip Irwin, whose pitching performance deserved better than a loss.BA #4 Starling Marte, who is hitting 331 BA, good for second highest in the Eastern League, patrolled CF, but struggled at the plate until he rapped a 1-out double to right center field off Senators’ closer Rafael Martin in the 9th. Marte is scheduled to play in the Future Game next week.BA #6 RHP Bryan Morris allowed 2 runs in the 8th. BA #11 Andrew Lambo played RF, BA #21 Quincy Lattimore, pinch hitting in the 9th, grounded out, and BA #22 Jody Mercer played a flawless 9 innings at SS, but also struggled at the plate.Pirates BA #2 catcher Tony Sanchez, BA #8 RHP Jeff Locke, and BA #28 RHP Aaron Pribanic didn’t play in the game. You can view the 80-photo Altoona Curve gallery hereAltoona Curve 2011, Pittsburgh Pirates, AA Eastern:List of Available Player Photos
